Sunshine Coast Health is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.

The primary purpose of this role is to:

  • Deliver advanced complex regulatory and non-regulatory environmental health services across the health service district to protect and promote human health, and to prevent risks to the community from environmental health hazards.
  • Provide expert environmental health advice, applying independent professional judgement to support colleagues and engage effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Utilise advanced clinical expertise, in-depth knowledge, and high-level problem-solving skills to lead the research, design, and delivery of complex environmental health services across multiple areas and the health service district, identifying evidence-based solutions and recommending strategic interventions and enforcement actions.
  • Apply advanced evidentiary skills and extensive experience to independently lead complex investigations under relevant public health legislation, operating with a high degree of autonomy and minimal clinical supervision.
  • Use high level evidence and judgement in the application and interpretation of results of risk assessments to contribute to risk management and communication.

Remuneration value up to $14,384 p.m., comprising salary between $5,557.50 - $5,798.90 p.f., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (HP5) (Fixed Term Temporary full time position available until 14/11/2025).
