We are looking for an exceptional Palliative Medicine consultant to join our Palliative Care department within Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service.
This role is required to work flexibly and rotate across the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service, Palliative Care Service, as operationally required. This will include work in (but not limited to):
- Community Palliative Care
- Consultation Liaison Palliative Care
- Inpatient and Outpatient Palliative Care
- State-wide services including the Specialist Palliative Rural Telehealth Service (SPaRTa)
As a Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service employee your salary includes:
- Base salary comprising of between
- $8,062.00 - $9,364.50 p.f. - Staff Specialist L18 – L24
- $9,641.00 - $10,221.70 p.f. - Senior Staff Specialist L25 – L27
- Motor vehicle allowance (pro rata for Part-time)
- $21,000 p.a. - Staff Specialist L18 – L24
- $25,500 p.a. - Senior Staff Specialist L25 – L27
- Attraction and Retention Allowance up to 50% of base salary
- Overtime and on-call allowances (paid by exception)
- Professional development allowance $21,500 p.a. (pro rata for Part-time)
- Generous superannuation of up to 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- Annual leave loading

The Sunshine Coast is known for its beautiful beaches, hinterland scenery and subtropical climate. The Health Service is located across the Sunshine Coast region, with five hospital campuses including Sunshine Coast University Hospital (SCUH) serving a population around 500,000 people.
Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north. We care for our communities through Sunshine Coast University Hospital, Nambour General Hospital, Gympie Hospital, Maleny Soldier's Memorial Hospital, and Caloundra Health Service which includes a Minor Injury and Illness Clinic. We also provide care at a number of community and mental health sites, as well as Glenbrook Residential Aged Care.
This position joins a growing Palliative Care department within Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service, providing high quality Palliative Medicine services for our community, with a focus on leading safe care, driving quality improvement and innovation, and collaboratively contributing to department growth and development within a multidisciplinary team.
