Permanent full-time and/or part-time positions available up to 80hrs p.f.

Remuneration up to $447 016 p.a.

We are looking for an exceptional Urology consultant with a strong clinical focus on urological surgical oncology to join our high-performing and expanding Urology department within Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service. This will include regular access to the da Vinci robotic surgical system.

The successful applicant will join a robust public service based across Sunshine Coast University Hospital (SCUH) and Nambour General Hospital, which together, perform all elective and emergency urological procedures. SCUH is co-located with two private hospitals, both of which are equipped with robotic surgical platforms, providing expanded access to robotic theatres and collaborative private-public practice opportunities.

As a Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service employee your salary includes:

  • Base salary comprising of between
    • $100.77 - $117.05 p.h. (p/t) or $8,062.00 - $9,364.50 p.f. (f/t) - Staff Specialist L18 – L24
    • $120.51 - $127.77 p.h. (p/t) or $9,641.00 - $10,221.70 p.f. (f/t) - Senior Staff Specialist L25 – L27
  • Motor vehicle allowance (pro rata for Part-time)
    • $21,000 p.a. - Staff Specialist L18 – L24
    • $25,500 p.a. - Senior Staff Specialist L25 – L27
  • Attraction and Retention Allowance up to 50% of base salary
  • Overtime and on-call allowances (paid by exception)
  • Professional development allowance $21,500 p.a. (pro rata for Part-time)
  • Generous superannuation of up to 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • Annual leave loading

The Sunshine Coast is known for its beautiful beaches, hinterland scenery and subtropical climate. The Health Service is located across the Sunshine Coast region, with five hospital campuses including Sunshine Coast University Hospital (SCUH) serving a population around 500,000 people.

Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north. We care for our communities through Sunshine Coast University Hospital, Nambour General Hospital, Gympie Hospital, Maleny Soldier's Memorial Hospital, and Caloundra Health Service which includes a Minor Injury and Illness Clinic. We also provide care at a number of community and mental health sites, as well as Glenbrook Residential Aged Care.

As a Staff Specialist/Senior Staff Specialist (Urology), you will lead innovative clinical Urology services that foster collaborative treatment and care, aiming to significantly improve patient outcomes. A subspecialty interest in endo-urology and or uro-oncology is highly desirable.

There is scope to develop and practice in a urological subspecialty area of interest. In particular, the unit can support a special interest in endourology, with access to:

  • Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP)
  • Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy (PCNL)
