An exciting opportunity exists for a Mental Health Safety Ambassador to Mental Health and Specialised Services. The Safety Ambassador is a non-traditional security role that provides a patient focused liaison role within community mental health service hubs (Nambour Community Mental Health/ Maroochydore Community Mental Health).
This role is focused on pro-active engagement of consumers and visitors attending MHSS community mental health hubs.
Sunshine Coast Health is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Functioning in accordance with legislation (e.g. Mental Health Act (2016), Guardianship and Administration Act (2011), Aged Care Act (1997) and Disability Act (2014) when undertaking activities as delegated to provide accountable care that is safe and relevant for individuals and groups.
- Continually monitors and actively patrols the designated clinical areas and proactively engages patients, visitors and staff to develop a positive safety culture and creates opportunities to enhance consumer experience by making connections with those in the area and, where possible, alleviating some of the stresses and anxiety through respectful interpersonal interactions.

Salary between $67,462 - $70,712p.a. (f/t), or salary rates: $34.02 - $35.66 p.h. (p/t), employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) (OO3) (Permanent Full Time 76hrs p.f. and/or Part Time hours negotiable). Applications will remain current for 12 months.
