This position provides a high standard of administrative support to the Mental Health Act functions at Sunshine Coast Mental Health and Specialised Services, ensuring that all legislative requirements of the Mental Health Act 2016 are met and to assist in the quality management, maintenance, inputting of legislative data contained in the Consumer Integrated Mental Health Application (CIMHA).
This position operates with a high degree of independence in performing the duties of the position while maintaining open channels of communication between the Mental Health Act Team and all staff within the department and members of multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Utilise knowledge of the Mental Health Act 2016 (MHA2016) to provide advice to mental health staff across the District/Network regarding the interpretation, application and operation of the Act.
- In collaboration with the Mental Health Act Administrator Delegate and mental health clinical staff, ensure that accurate and secure client records, systems and registers are completed, maintained and stored, in accordance with the Mental Health Act 2016 and Chief Psychiatrist policies and assist in quality assurance improvement activities in relation to the storage and ongoing management of consumer information, both in paper and electronic formats.
- In collaboration with the Mental Health Act Administrator Delegate scrutinise and monitor Mental Health Act 2016 documents/forms to identify errors and return to appropriate clinicians for remedial action.
Remuneration value up to $57,089 p.a., comprising salary rates $45.81 - $50.46 p.h., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (AO4) (part time position, 38 hrs p.f.).
