Enrolled Nurse - Central Sterilising Unit

We’re excited to welcome an Enrolled Nurse to our Central Sterilising Unit, Nambour The Enrolled Nurse (EN) assists with the provision of person-centred nursing care and positive patient outcomes under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN) or Clinical Nurse (CN) in the Sterilising Unit within a dynamic health environment based on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia – Standard of Practice: Enrolled Nurse. Opportunities exists for experienced EN’s with a minimum of Cert III in Sterilising (or working towards) to join our workforce. Sterilising roles at the NGH will involve all areas of the sterilising department incorporating Steam sterilisation, low temperature sterilisation and Endoscope reprocessing across all our surgical specialities and Patient care delivery departments.

The Enrolled Nurse (EN) assists with the provision of person-centred nursing care and positive patient outcomes under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN) or Clinical Nurse (CN) in the Sterilising Unit within a dynamic health environment based on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia – Standard of Practice: Enrolled Nurse.
Opportunities exists for experienced EN's with a minimum of Cert III in Sterilising (or working towards) to join our workforce. Sterilising roles at the NGH will involve all areas of the sterilising department incorporating Steam sterilisation, low temperature sterilisation and Endoscope reprocessing across all our surgical specialities and Patient care delivery departments.
Sunshine Coast Health is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Understand your broad responsibilities for safety and quality in healthcare, actively participate in continuous quality and safety improvement activities within the workplace and notify a relevant clinical or non-clinical responsible officer when concerns exist about workplace or patient safety.
- Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
- Actively participate in a working environment supporting quality human resource management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, workplace health and safety and ethical behaviour.
- Follow defined service quality standards, occupational health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
Remuneration value up to $59 519 p.a., comprising salary rates $35.92 - $38.12 p.h., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Nurse Grade 3) (Part-Time position, 52 hrs p.f.). Applications will remain current for 12 months. Please note: only applications from candidates will be accepted (applications that may result in an agency fee will not be considered).
