We’re excited to welcome a Registered Nurse to our Clinical Research Unit. This role is responsible for the conduct of Medical and Surgical Clinical Trials within in the Clinical Research Unit. The Registered Nurse (Study Coordinator) will coordinate the delivery of direct and indirect care and associated data collection for concurrent research studies undertaken in the department, in accordance with the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) Note for Guidance on Good Clinical Practice (CPMP/ICH/135/95) and the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Research Involving Humans.

The Clinical Research Unit manages clinical trials and investigator led research within the Sunshine Coast Health.  The office is located at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital however, trials occur at all sites within the Health Service and this position may require travel to other sites.

Sunshine Coast Health is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the co-ordination of clinical trials and investigator led research whilst upholding the principles of Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
  • Responsible for taking active steps to understand and maintain a working knowledge of study protocols
  • Responsible for prioritising workload and maintaining effective records both electronically and in the site folders
  • Assist in the documentation preparation and filing for Ethics, Governance and Audit Process

Salary between $82,753 - $95 278 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Nurse Grade 5) (temporary position available for 12 months).
