An exciting opportunity exists for a Registered Nurse (Nurse Grade 5) to join the Medical Assessment and Planning Unit (MAPU) and Discharge Centre at Nambour General Hospital. In this role you will provide safe, high-quality, patient-centred care as part of a multidisciplinary team. MAPU is a 12-bed unit caring for a broad range of medical conditions, often for patients transferred from the Emergency Department, with an average stay of 24–48 hours. The role also includes working within the Discharge Centre, a busy 7 bed/6 chair unit that plays a vital role in facilitating early discharge and hospital efficiency. As a Registered Nurse, you will assess, plan and evaluate care, coordinate services across the continuum, support safe discharge, and contribute to continuous improvement, education, and quality outcomes.

As a Registered Nurse, you will assess, plan and evaluate care, coordinate services across the continuum, support safe discharge, and contribute to continuous improvement, education, and quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities include:

Deliver safe, patient-centred care by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing interventions.

Support safe and efficient patient flow, including short-stay management in MAPU and early discharge coordination in the Discharge Centre.

Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to achieve quality health outcomes and provide appropriate referrals.

Contribute to continuous improvement through clinical leadership, mentoring, and participation in quality and safety initiatives.
Salary rates: $41.73 - $53.53 p.h., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Nurse Grade 5) (temporary part time position available for up to six months, Hours Negotiable.).
