The Registered Nurse acts as a leader in the coordination and delivery of nursing care and has a wider role contributing to education, research, quality and safety in order to achieve the best patient outcomes.
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital (SCUH) is currently operating at up to 12 beds. There is further capacity for the ICU to expand when fully commissioned. The ICU provides specialist care for trauma, medical and surgical specialities for the SCHHS, with other services planned for the near future. The unit strives to offer a culture of education, learning and support within the multi-disciplinary team.
Sunshine Coast Health is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
- ICU qualifications and/or experience highly desirable
- Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Sunshine Coast Health Values.

Remuneration based pro rata on equivalent full time value up to $121 106 p.a., comprising salary rates: $41.73 - $53.5 p.h. employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Nurse Grade 5) (temporary position available for up to 12 months, hours negotiable).
