The Administration Officer will provide a high level of confidential administrative and business support for assigned Nurse Unit Managers within the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service. This position assists the Nurse Unit Manager with internal communication on a daily basis and externally with various departments and agencies, while operating with a high degree of independence.

Acute mental health inpatient units provide short to medium term inpatient assessment and treatment services for people experiencing serious episodes of mental illnesses, who are unable to be adequately supported in the community. Adult acute inpatient services aim to provide multidisciplinary specialist assessment, collaborative treatment, evidence-based best practice and skilled clinical interventions, clinical reviews and discharge planning within a safe, therapeutic and consumer friendly environment.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Manage the day to day administration requirements of the work unit to achieve administrative compliancy by providing specific support to the Nurse Unit Managers.
  • Ability to read and interpret nursing rosters, to ensure accuracy.
  • Provide administration support to committees and meetings as required by the Nurse Unit Manager. Including distribution of agendas, booking meeting venues, production of minutes and following up meeting actions.
  • Prepare and process, Human Resource and Payroll forms in line with department policies and processes adhering to strict deadlines.

Remuneration value up to $97 656 p.a, comprising salary rates $38.81 - $43.16 p.h, employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (AO3) (part time position, 38 hrs p.f.)
