Maternity Service consists of hospital based and outreach Maternity Clinic Services, a Birth Suite, Birthing Centre, an Antenatal and Maternity Inpatient Unit, a level 5 Neonatal Unit and an Extended Midwifery postnatal Service. Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) operates within Maternity services as an additional option of care for women, for an ‘all-risk' caseload of between 30-40 women per year. All areas collaborate and function together, providing a family focused service. All areas of maternity have a close working relationship with free movement of midwives throughout the service, thus allowing the midwives to practice across their scope of practice.
