We are seeking a dedicated Schools Officer (Grounds and Facilities) to join our team. You will be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and be capable of planning, organising, problem solving and prioritising your own workload. You will also be a proactive team member who adheres to strict workplace health and safety requirements when undertaking a variety of school maintenance functions. Previous experience in a school setting would be advantageous.

We are a beautifully established primary school located in the picturesque Gold Coast Hinterland with approximately 650 students..

Your Role:
You will work within a team to perform a range of activities to ensure that the school is maintained to a high standard; follow set instructions; and have independence to perform a variety of day-to-day services that are routine in nature.
Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for a range of day to day activities that include maintenance of school oval through regular mowing, watering and soil maintenance (refer to Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) guidelines and procedures);
- Lawn and garden maintenance, including regular mowing, edging, hedging, weeding and the use of appropriate insecticides and fertilisers where necessary (refer to WHS guidelines and procedures); *
- Maintenance of a safe work environment; safe storage and handling of chemicals, fertilisers and fuels. Safe operation and general maintenance of grounds care equipment such as mowers, brush cutters, tractors (as per manufacturers' service manuals) and arrange regular services.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements including maintenance of a safe work environment; bring to appropriate attention any safety hazards.
- Other suitable duties, consistent with the duties and responsibilities of the position as directed by the supervisor or nominated delegate.
Mandatory requirements of this role are:
- Open Drivers Licence
- Working with Children (Blue Card) Check
- Criminal History Check
- General Construction Induction Training Card (or willingness to obtain one)

This is a OO2 progression position as per the Role Description. The successful applicant will be appointed to the OO2 classification with eligibility for progression to the OO3 level once specific criteria have been met. Please note salary rate shown is reflective of OO2 to OO3 classification range.
