Springwood State High School are seeking a Head of Special Education Services (HOSES) to join their school community for a temporary full-time position commencing 14 July 2025 to 19 September 2025. Within this role you will have the opportunity to: promote an inclusive culture and practices within the school community to ensure equity and excellence for students with disability. Develop and support a high quality of teaching and adjustments for students with disability in accordance to related legislation and policies.

About the Role:

As Head of Special Education Services, you will lead and support the implementation of inclusive practices, ensuring all students have access to high-quality teaching and the adjustments they need to thrive. You will work collaboratively with staff, students, families and the community to enhance learning experiences and drive positive outcomes for all students.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to;

  • Lead and manage the Special Education Program and/or Early Childhood Development Program to provide advice to classroom teachers for students with disability as needed.
  • Provide high quality advice to the school leadership team, classroom teachers and other school staff to develop, plan and implement effective reasonable adjustments for students with disability.
  • Coordinate and provide intensive targeted teaching for students requiring intervention.
  • Provide, support and/or coordinate case management for students who require extensive or substantial adjustments.
