Initially, this role will encompass a Wellbeing component, focusing on supporting students' mental health and wellbeing.

This is a permanent, part-time position (0.40 FTE) with an immediate start.

We are seeking a permanent, part-time (0.40 FTE, 20 Hours) Guidance Officer – Wellbeing to commence immediately.

About the Role

As the Guidance Officer, your Wellbeing responsibilities include three key priority areas:

  1. Identification, support and therapeutic intervention planning for students with mild to moderate mental health difficulties.

  2. Provide advice and counselling on educational, behavioural, vocational, personal, social, family and mental health and wellbeing issues.

  3. Provide support and ensure safety plans for the school context are implemented for students who are self-harming and/or at risk of suicide.

As the Guidance Officer, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide professional expertise, leadership and support to school communities and networks in the development and implementation of plans, programs, and procedures to assist students in achieving positive educational, developmental and lifelong learning outcomes.
  • Collaboratively negotiate, develop and implement programs for students that have a focus on preventative and early intervention strategies; are responsive to identified personal, social, emotional and educational needs; and aim to foster resilience and personal skills development.
