Browns Plains State High School seeks an exceptional and innovative Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities. This position is offered on a temporary basis at 0.6 - 1.00 FTE per fortnight, until 12 December 2025, unless otherwise determined.

About Browns Plains State High School

This is a OO2 progression position as per the Role Description. The successful applicant will be appointed to the OO2 classification with eligibility for progression to the OO3 level once specific criteria have been met. Please note salary rate shown is reflective of OO2 to OO3 classification range.
About You
The successful candidate will have exceptional relational skills with experience in facilities and grounds, driven to build a positive, welcoming, and supportive school culture, and be committed to the school's development and growth. You will perform a range of activities to ensure that the school is maintained to a high standard; follow set instructions; and have independence to perform a variety of day-to-day services that are routine in nature.
Our ideal candidate will possess these skills:
- strong relational skills and the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders;
- demonstrated ability to conduct minor repairs and maintenance to Grounds and Facilities (except jobs that require qualified trades);
- excellent organisational skills;
- demonstrated ability to maintain school facilities and grounds at a high standard;
- ability to independently, multi-task and prioritise tasks;
- capability to perform activities consistent with WPHS guidelines (safe working environments, equipment maintenance, safe storage, handling chemicals, fertilisers and fuels);
- knowledge of Chemical Management;
- knowledge of procurement policy and managing grounds/facility budgets;
- innovative mindset and proactive approach to problem-solving;
- ability to follow instructions and work independently or as a team on routine tasks;
- horticultural experience will be highly regarded due to our unique landscaping design.
Some after hours and on call work may be required for this position.
