Eagleby State School is seeking a compassionate and community-focused Family Support Coordinator to strengthen partnerships between families, the school, and local support services.
Located in the vibrant Logan River corridor, our diverse community celebrates inclusion and fosters a genuine sense of belonging for all families and students.
This role focuses on early years engagement (Prep–2), supporting families to connect meaningfully with the school, access wellbeing services, and actively participate in their child’s learning journey.
This position is being offered in a Temporary Part-Time capacity (0.60FTE), 43.5 hours per fortnight.

About the Role
The Family Support Coordinator will play a vital role in building strong, culturally responsive relationships with families and the community, focusing on early years engagement (Prep-2). This role is integral to supporting families in connecting with the school, accessing early learning and wellbeing services, and fostering positive patterns of attendance, behaviour, and engagement in learning.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building trusting, culturally responsive relationships with families, reflecting our SOAR values of Strength, Ownership, Aspiration, and Relationships.
- Collaborating with HOD-Student Services, Prep-2 teachers, and leadership to identify student and family needs early and provide practical, strengths-based support.
- Facilitating access to wrap-around support services, including health, housing, counselling, and family wellbeing programs, by collaborating with local organisations such as YFS, Kingston East Neighbourhood Centre, and The Family Place.
- Supporting families to engage with school routines, transition programs, playgroups, and community events that foster belonging and connectedness.
- Contributing to school wellbeing and engagement data collection, supporting the monitoring of student outcomes and participation.

About You
The following traits would be beneficial:
- Experience working with children and families in culturally and socio-economically diverse communities.
- Demonstrates warmth, cultural humility, and a relational approach, building strong family-school connections.
- Understands the cultural and faith dynamics of the Logan region, particularly Pacific Islander, Māori, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, and new-arrival families.
- Collaborates effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including HOD-Student Services, Prep-2 teachers, and school leadership.
- Has skills in early years engagement, family support, and community liaison, with a focus on Prep-2 students.
- Supports families to overcome barriers to learning and participation, connecting them to wrap-around services and practical support.
- Understands and applies neuroscience-informed, evidence-based practices, including cognitive load awareness and explicit instruction strategies.
