As a School Cleaner, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe, hygienic, and positive environment for our students, staff, and visitors.

This position is being offered in a Permanent Part-Time capacity (0.53FTE), 40 hours per fortnight.

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Cleaner to join our team and contribute to the efficient and effective operation of Ashmore State School. This role is vital in maintaining a safe, hygienic, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Cleaning and sanitising classrooms, toilet facilities, and common areas to a high standard.
  • Maintaining and cleaning equipment and ensuring supplies are stocked.
  • Dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, and floor maintenance, including buffing and polishing.
  • Disposing of rubbish and managing litter control across the school grounds.
  • Reporting safety or maintenance concerns to the Principal or Business Manager.

This role would suit someone who takes pride in their work, values cleanliness, and enjoys being part of a supportive school community.

About You

The following traits would be beneficial:

  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleaning standards.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Strong communication skills for liaising with school staff and reporting issues.
  • Experience in cleaning or a similar role (beneficial but not essential).
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning equipment and safety procedures.
