Who We Are:

A new state high school will open in Logan Reserve in Term 1 2027.

The school will cater for Years 7 and 8 at opening, with additional years added progressively.

The new state high school will increase schooling capacity and provide enrolment relief in the local network.

Step Into Your Next Chapter:

This vacancy is a rare opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic curriculum and educator leader to establish an expert teaching team both within faculty and across the school. As a new school we are expecting approximately 440 year 7 and 8 students in 2027 and then growing rapidly each year towards 2400 students.

In addition to facilitating the development of English units, the successful applicant will be required to design and implement a whole of school reading strategy and literacy framework. Highly developed interpersonal skills will be essential in building the capacity of onsite Heads of Department, subject coordinators and other staff. In addition, you will be required to work collaboratively with local primary schools to build on existing practices, cater for the needs of adolescent learners and ensure that the transition from primary school to secondary school is as seamless as possible and that the outcomes as described in “On Track for Success” are achieved.

As the school grows each year, you will be required to ensure that students are able to transition to senior secondary pathways of choice and be “Ready for the Future”.

You will be a contributing member of the foundation curriculum, teaching and learning team and add value to the evolution of the school as it grows and develops over time.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the school department to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
  • Set high standards for student and staff performance.
  • Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.

Please view the role description for a full list of responsibilities.

Submit Your Application:

  • Attach a CV of not more than three pages which includes two referees, one of which must be a current supervisor.
  • Attach a two-page response addressing only the first three criteria as outlined in the "how you will be assessed"
  • Attach a copy of your mandatory qualifications/registration outlined in the attached role description

We welcome all applicants to share any support needed to ensure our recruitment process is inclusive.

Applications remain current for 12 months from the closing date and may be considered for appointment to identical or similar vacancies within the Department.
