Biggera Waters State School is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled educator to join our leadership team as a Pedagogy Coach. Our school is committed to building a strong learning culture where staff work together to improve teaching practice and student outcomes. This role will support the rollout and embedding of InitialLit, explicit instruction, literacy programs and collegial engagement across the school. The successful applicant will work alongside teachers and leaders to coach, model, mentor and support consistent, evidence-informed classroom practice. At Biggera Waters State School, the Coach Pedagogy role supports the school's improvement agenda by building teacher capability, strengthening consistent pedagogical practice and improving student learning outcomes.
This role has a key focus on supporting the rollout and embedding of InitialLit, explicit instruction, literacy programs and evidence-based teaching practices. The role works alongside teachers and leaders to model effective practice, provide coaching and feedback, support professional learning, and strengthen a positive culture of collegial engagement.
The Coach Pedagogy helps translate school priorities into clear, practical classroom practice so that teachers feel supported and students experience high-quality learning across the school.
Key Role Responsibilities
- The Coach Pedagogy will:
- Lead and support the implementation of InitialLit, explicit instruction and agreed literacy programs across the school.
- Coach, mentor and support teachers to strengthen classroom practice, including through modelling lessons, observing practice, providing feedback and supporting professional reflection.
- Model high-quality teaching practices, including explicit instruction routines such as learning intentions, success criteria, daily review, modelling, guided practice, checks for understanding and independent practice.
- Work with teachers and year-level teams to build consistency in agreed school-wide pedagogical approaches.
- Support teachers to use student data, assessment information and classroom evidence to identify student needs, plan next steps and monitor progress.
- Provide needs-based professional learning that supports teachers to implement evidence-based teaching practices with confidence.
- Strengthen collegial engagement by facilitating professional conversations, classroom observation, feedback, collaborative planning and sharing of effective practice.
