Biggera Waters State School is seeking a committed and proactive leader to join our leadership team as Head of Department, Student Services.
This role will lead key work across Positive Behaviour for Learning, case management, tiered student support, the Hub, attendance, engagement and school-wide consistent practices.
The successful applicant will work closely with leaders, staff, families and external agencies to strengthen student support systems and build staff capability.
We are seeking someone who is calm, organised, relational and confident leading proactive whole-school approaches to student engagement and wellbeing.

The Head of Department, Student Services leads the school's approach to student engagement, wellbeing, behaviour support and tiered intervention.
At our school, this role has a key focus on leading PBL, strengthening case management, coordinating tiered student support, overseeing the Hub, and embedding consistent school-wide practices that support learning, attendance, engagement and wellbeing.
Key Role Responsibilities
- Lead and embed Positive Behaviour for Learning across the school, including expectations, routines, reteaching, acknowledgements and consistent staff responses.
- Coordinate case management processes for students requiring additional support with behaviour, engagement, attendance, wellbeing or social-emotional needs.
- Lead tiered student support, ensuring clear universal, targeted and intensive responses are in place.
- Oversee the purpose, operation and consistency of the Hub as a support, regulation and triage space.
- Use behaviour, attendance, wellbeing and achievement data to identify needs, monitor patterns and plan next steps.
- Support teachers and leaders with practical strategies, tools and advice to strengthen student engagement and classroom consistency.
- Work collaboratively with DPs, HOSES, Guidance Officer and other staff to ensure student support is coordinated and clearly communicated.
- Lead staff professional learning connected to PBL, engagement, regulation, restorative practice and consistent school-wide expectations.
- Support positive partnerships with families and external agencies to improve student outcomes.
- Ensure student support practices align with departmental policy, inclusive practice and the school's improvement priorities.
