Expression of Interest - Acting Principal Opportunities (Level 8-10 Secondary Schools in Southeast Region)

The Southeast Region is seeking Expressions of Interest from capable and experienced school leaders interested in short-term acting principal opportunities up to six months across a range of Level 8-10 schools.

These opportunities provide outstanding professional growth and leadership experience, with the possibility of extension subject to operational requirements. Initially, schools are likely to include Varsity College, Palm-Beach Currumbin SHS and Southport SHS.

This process may also be used to fill any further temporary roles over the next 6 - 12 months.

This temporary vacancy is open to Expressions of Interest and any extensions to this appointment will not exceed 12 months. 

About You

  • Data-inform..ed decision making to improve student outcomes
  • Developing capability in others through coaching and supervision

Successful applicants will demonstrate the ability to lead with agility, foster strong relationships with staff and community, and confidently navigate complex educational environments while maintaining a relentless focus on student achievement and wellbeing.

These roles provide an exciting opportunity to contribute to a diverse range of school contexts across the Southeast Region while further developing executive leadership capability.

  • A current resume (maximum 3-page) 
  • The names and contact details for 2 referees (referees should have an understanding of your relevant work history), it is encouraged that at least one referee is a current supervisor 
  • A brief statement (maximum 2-page) outlining suitability for acting principal opportunities at Level 8-10 schools, including relevant leadership experience and areas of expertise
