We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Workplace Health and Safety Advisor for a full-time temporary position commencing ASAP, until 11 December 2026 unless otherwise determined.

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic person with excellent organisational skills who excels in time management, prioritisation and attention to detail. Someone who is approachable, shows initiative and takes a personal accountability for accomplishing objectives and meeting deadlines, will thrive in this position. As the Workplace Health and Safety Advisor you will work across two campuses and report to the College Business Manager.

About the Role:

You will have responsibility for the following though not restricted to:

  • Provide and coordinate workplace health and safety services to the P-12 College
  • Perform the role of Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator for the P-12 College

Your role:

  • Provide advise to management on all matters pertaining to prevention of injury, hazards and control, promote health and safety, risks to students, staff and on-site community members
  • Conduct proactive risk assessments and inspections to identify hazards in the workplace
  • Develop, promote and coordinate training on health and safety topics for the college
  • Provide regular reports and feedback to the Workplace Health and Safety committee on all matters related to health and safety
  • Organise WPH&S meetings, administration duties for meetings, professional development and provide support on procedures and guidelines
  • Manage the Annual Safety Assessment
  • Manage SOP's across the P-12 College
  • Inspections to ensure a safe work place
  • Collate data from Internal School Reviews
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with the WPH&S program
  • Advise on incident reporting data
  • Liaise with management on status of individual Rehabilitation and Return to Work programs, individual personal check ins and reporting of all serious work injuries or events
  • Develop weekly RTW timesheets and plans for injured staff
  • Maintain communication with injured staff updating medical certificates and case notes in IMS
