Southport State High School have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Department - Arts to join the team on a permanent full-time basis. This role will provide strategic and instructional leadership across the Arts, supporting teachers to deliver engaging, high-quality learning experiences that foster creativity, critical thinking and student achievement. The successful candidate will lead curriculum planning and improvement, build a culture of high expectations, mentor and develop staff, and promote opportunities for students to excel across the Arts. Strong organisational, communication and leadership skills, together with a passion for inclusive, innovative and future-focused arts education, are essential to this role.

- Lead continuous improvement and professional growth through lifelong learning, reflective practice and ongoing professional development.
- Build strong partnerships and networks with students, families, government agencies and community organisations to support positive educational outcomes.
- Drive future-focused planning and effective governance by applying relevant legislation and policies and strategically managing human, financial, facilities and curriculum resources to achieve school goals.
