We are seeking an inspirational and highly collaborative Head of Department - Industrial Design and Technology and Home Economics to provide strategic and instructional leadership across the department. In this role you will significantly contribute to a high expectations and performance culture through strong instructional leadership to focus on continuous improvement in educational achievement belonging and engagement, and inclusion and wellbeing. This will be underpinned by our pedagogical approach. You will directly line manage the Industrial Design and Technology and Home Economics staff and will report to the Deputy Principal of Wellbeing.

About the Role
The Industrial Design and Technology and Home Economics Department currently delivers the following curriculum areas and may wish to explore further offerings in the future:
- Senior Technologies - Building and Construction Skills, Design, Engineering Skills, Fashion, Furnishing Skills, Hospitality Practices
- Junior Technologies - Design, Design Technology, Fashion, Food Technology
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
- Lead with a clear educational vision that prioritises high-quality learning outcomes, equity, inclusion and high expectations for all students and staff.
- Build a culture of continuous improvement and professional learning by modelling lifelong learning, supporting staff development and promoting high standards of performance.
- Foster strong partnerships and community engagement with students, families, staff, government agencies and community organisations to strengthen student outcomes and wellbeing.
- Provide strategic and future-focused leadership by anticipating emerging needs, setting clear priorities and aligning school practices and resources with long-term goals.
- Ensure effective governance and resource management by applying relevant legislation and policies and responsibly managing people, finances, facilities and curriculum resources to achieve school priorities.
