Are you passionate about public libraries and their potential to deliver deeply local outcomes in small Queensland communities?

As part of our Public Libraries branch, you'll work in partnership with local government to play a role in supporting public library staff in regional and remote locations to work sustainably and collaboratively to deliver library services that enrich lives and stregthen communities.

We're seeking a motivated and flexible team member who can work productively and independently on multiple deliverables, prioritise tasks effectively to meet timeframes, and successfully engage with a wide range of local government stakeholders.

This position focuses on the Rural Libraries Queensland (RLQ) network and the ongoing development of small and remote library services across the state.

About you
As a member of the Grants team, within the Public Libraries branch, you will support the administration, governance, monitoring and evaluation of funding programs and partnerships with local governments for the delivery of public library services and programs. A key focus of this role will be to provide advice and support in the delivery of library services and programs to the Queensland Public Library network with a focus on working with Rural Libraries Queensland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinating the governance of funding allocated to local governments including administration of direct funding subsidies, analysis and assessment of annual reporting and acquittals, and benchmarking against obligations.
  • Monitoring the obligations of funding methodologies, service level agreements and reporting requirements with local governments to ensure processes meet governance requirements and support best practice.
  • Delivering high quality advice, advocacy and assistance to local governments regarding requirements for the delivery of high quality, innovative and inclusive public library services and programs.
  • Leading competitive grants programs including developing funding guidelines, administration forms, assessment, approval and acquittal processes.
  • Preparing submissions, briefs and reports including for the annual statistical return, the Library Board of Queensland, and time sensitive information requests.
  • Contributing to a positive and safe work environment by ensuring conduct that is culturally capable, inclusive, respectful and ethical. 

 Other

  • Intrastate travel and overnight absences are part of the role.
  • A Queensland driver's license or the ability to get one is a requirement of the role.
