As the Principal Policy Officer within the State Budget team in the Funding Strategy and Intergovernmental Policy Branch, you will be a key team member leading Queensland Health's annual state budget submission and papers process as well as the Mid-Year Fiscal and Economic Review.
What you'll do
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the Queensland Health's annual Budget submission and Budget papers
- Undertake project management activities to ensure projects are on track and meeting milestones and timeframes.
- Co-ordinating and managing information and data requests from across Queensland Health under tight timeframes for strategic projects such as the annual Budget papers.
- Preparing high quality written documentation - including senior executive briefings, Cabinet Budget Review Committee (CBRC) submissions, reports and correspondence.
- Work flexibly across teams within the Funding Strategy and Intergovernmental Policy Branch on issues relating to State funding and intergovernmental policy and funding.
About you
We are searching for someone with:
- Strong public policy analysis skills and the ability to interpret strategic meaning.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks within tight timeframes and manage staff and resources to achieve deliverables.
- Ability to work flexibly across teams in policy analysis.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, particularly the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise way.
- Knowledge of the Queensland and Australian health system or ability to rapidly acquire such knowledge.
