Your opportunity

In South West Queensland, health service partners are focused on developing a connected system of care components that will improve the wellbeing of people experiencing problematic alcohol and other drug use and provides a culturally safe helping environment.

This role will provide clinical expertise and leadership for ensuring the highest quality of integrated care is available for people experiencing problematic alcohol and substance use in South West Queensland.

Your advanced knowledge of evidence-based models of care will extend to the coordination and delivery of opiate substitute treatment programs in low resource environments.

Closing the Gap in health outcomes for First Nations peoples is a strategic priority in South West Hospital and Health Service (SWHHS) and the role will provide an opportunity to work across the South West Queensland and engage with leaders in indigenous communities in more remote areas.

It is critical that you are knowledgeable and committed to Closing the Gap as a strategy and able to use co-design to translate evidence into culturally safe models of care.

The very nature of what we do and who we are is the real opportunity. Providing health care in the bush is full of challenges, however, it remains the most rewarding of human experiences.

Our vision is to be a national leader in the delivery of health services to rural and remote communities.
