Your opportunity

The Nurse Practitioner – Morven, Western Qld, provides nursing care at an advanced scope of clinical practice with clinical expertise within a specialised skill set in assessment planning and implementation, diagnosis and evaluation of nursing care required. This includes the direct referral of clients, prescription of medications and ordering and interpreting results of diagnostic investigations. 

As this role is located in a Hospital Based Ambulance site, you will be required to:

  • Participate in the on-call roster to provide 24hr pre-hospital emergency first response using the hospital-based ambulance or first-response vehicle.
  • Conduct advanced, comprehensive health assessment and management of patients using knowledge and skills in accordance with scope of practice and within the Primary Clinical Care Manual (PCCM) including:
    • Provide pre-hospital emergency first response to your scope of practice in the community using the hospital-based ambulance or first-response vehicle.
    • Operate a hospital-based ambulance or first-response vehicle (4WD) which requires a ‘C'-Class Manual Driver's Licence. An appropriate licence endorsement to operate this type of vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided before commencement of duty and be updated as licence expires.
    • Provide pre-hospital emergency first response to community (outside of clinic environment).
    • Complete all the core and role mandatory training requirements as per SWHHS Mandatory Training Matrix within the required timeframes.

Morven, Western Qld, is a designated Remote Area Nursing Incentive Package (RANIP) site in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health) Award – State 2015. This attracts additional entitlements which may include:
