Tell me more... The Clinical Nurse demonstrates clinical leadership and management qualities in the provision of quality, cost effective, patient/client/resident centred nursing care in consultation with other members of the health care team and in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia's National competency standards for the registered nurse. They provide best practise nursing care in the assessment and treatment of patients/clients/residents to promote, maintain and improve their health, functional ability and quality of life. They are a key member of the multidisciplinary team, providing educational support to others, planning and evaluating nursing care and providing clinical supervision and nursing leadership as required.
