TIQ North America is looking for a locally engaged Principal Trade Manager, based in either San Francisco or New York City, to focus on the identification and facilitation of trade opportunities in key priority sectors across the North American market.

Are you someone who thinks strategically and brings sound commercial acumen? Do you have an understanding of government and the credibility to contribute substantially to international trade for Queensland. The successful candidate will have well developed networks across North America and work to highlight the strengths of Queensland exporters.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Directly engage with Queensland businesses seeking a pathway into North America, to provide expert advice and support to achieve successful trade outcomes in the market.
- Lead and manage significant projects that research, present and implement international business opportunities that bring successful trade outcomes for TIQ clients.
- Working with the Commissioner, to develop and implement a plan for North America, informed through high level market and trend analysis, ensuring activities are tailored to TIQ trade client's future business success and that TIQ KPIs are achieved.
- Initiate and manage professional relationships ensuring effective coordination and liaison with key stakeholders across TIQ Brisbane, the Queensland regional network, other government agencies, and bi-lateral Chambers to co-ordinate joint trade promotional activities, business missions and client support
- Provide and regularly update clients with opportunity-specific information and ensure records and communication are captured in TIQ's Client Relationship Management system (CRM) and ensure that you regularly report business outcomes to Senior Management.
- Under direction from the Commissioner, manage trade missions and Ministerial visits including preparation of visit programs and accompanying official and business delegations as required.
To determine your suitability for the role, you will be assessed on the following key capabilities:
- Thinks strategically and brings sound commercial acumen, an understanding of government and the credibility to contribute substantially to international trade activities.
- Demonstrates a deep familiarity with North America and Australia and have at least 5-7 years related business experience.
- Provides advice to stakeholders that is rigorously considered and supported by a clear rationale.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to the formulation of strategic priorities then support these with purposeful and systematic actions.
- Possesses excellent communication and negotiation skills and has a high level of resilience while operating in a high-pressured environment with competing priorities.
