As the Principal Trade and Investment Officer - TradeStart (Critical and Enabling Technologies), you will deliver high-value trade and investment outcomes for Queensland businesses by leveraging the combined capabilities of TIQ, Austrade and Queensland's innovation ecosystem.

You will support innovative Queensland companies to enter new markets while identifying opportunities to attract investment into Queensland's critical and enabling technologies sectors, including: Artificial Intelligence & Robotics, Cybersecurity, Quantum, Data Centres, enabling technologies, sportstech, fintech and more.

About the Team
Situated within Priority Sectors, Queensland Operations, the Health, Innovation and Technology (HIT) unit plays a key role in growing diversified exports and attracting investment across Queensland's most innovative and high-growth industries.
Through strategic sector engagement, market intelligence and trade and investment facilitation, the team supports Queensland businesses to expand internationally while also attracting investment that strengthens Queensland's innovation ecosystem, creates jobs and drives economic growth.
The unit's focus spans two core streams:
• Biomedical and Life Sciences
• Critical and Enabling Technologies
This role sits within the Critical and Enabling Technologies stream and delivers the TradeStart program in partnership with Austrade, supporting Queensland businesses to grow exports and attract investment.

You thrive in a fast-paced environment, build credibility quickly and enjoy working across government, industry and international networks to deliver practical outcomes. You are comfortable working with ambiguity, balancing competing priorities and translating complex information into actionable advice.
