About the business unit

Global Investment Attraction (GIA) engages with the TIQ overseas and regional offices, overseas investors and local investees to facilitate major productive inward investment projects. Through this work the unit helps to create new employment, enable technology transfer and drive new productive foreign investment into Queensland. GIA works with stakeholders including private sector companies, professional services firms, financial institutions and across various government agencies at a local, state, federal and international level to attract new overseas investment opportunities and projects to Queensland.

Your contribution (key responsibilities and accountabilities)

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Manage projects and engage with investment stakeholders to enhance collaboration and build application opportunities, while leading to successful outcomes for TIQ.
  • Work collaboratively to manage, implement and coordinate international investment projects and initiatives aligned to the Queensland Trade and Investment Strategy 2022-2032 that focus on profiling Queensland globally as the perfect place to invest.
  • Deliver investment attraction services including business case preparation, key stakeholder introductions, tailored investor programs (including site visits) and aftercare services for existing international investors.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders across the globe to provide high level advice and support to achieve investment outcomes.
  • Provide high level written and verbal advice, including reports and correspondence to various stakeholders including clients and industry groups, Ministers, the TIQ Board and TIQ senior management.
  • Update clients with opportunity-specific information and maintain records in TIQ's Client Relationship Management system.
  • Support the GIA team to foster an environment which values performance, client management experience, continuous improvement and innovation.

While there are no mandatory qualifications for this role, practical experience in international investment and/or qualifications in business, international relations or project management will be favourably regarded.

The ability to speak another language other than English would also be well regarded.
