About The Opportunity
Based in TIQ Hong Kong office, reporting to the Queensland Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner - Greater China (the Commissioner), your role as Senior Director, Trade and Investment - Hong Kong and Macau is a leadership role in the region responsible for driving Queensland Government priorities in-market.

The role provides strategic leadership, direction, and oversight to deliver measurable trade, investment, and international engagement outcomes, while strengthening Queensland's bilateral relationships with senior government, corporate, and institutional stakeholders.

The Senior Director acts as a key representative of the Queensland Government and contributes to the broader leadership of TIQ's international network.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the TIQ Hong Kong office, with responsibility for delivering outcomes across Hong Kong and Macau, ensuring alignment with TIQ's global priorities and Queensland Government economic objectives.
  • Lead the development and execution of market strategies across Hong Kong and Macau to drive foreign direct investment (FDI) and export outcomes, with a focus on high-value, priority sectors, and support approved activities in key Greater Bay Area locations where required.
  • Build and maintain influential relationships with senior executives, investors, government representatives, and industry leaders across Hong Kong and Macau, while actively supporting stakeholder engagement in Greater Bay Area markets as appropriate.
  • Identify, originate, and progress complex investment and trade opportunities across Hong Kong and Macau, and contribute to opportunities in Greater Bay Area locations where relevant, influencing decision-making at senior levels to secure outcomes that deliver long-term economic value for Queensland.
  • Represent the Queensland Government in high-level engagements, negotiations, and forums, including in Hong Kong and Macau and, as required, in Greater Bay Area locations, demonstrating sound judgement, diplomacy, and strategic insight.

To be eligible for consideration with this opportunity, you must have:
1. Work Authorisation - Appointment to this role is subject to satisfactory right to work in Hong Kong (Citizen, Permanent Resident, Visa Holder).
2. Language - High-level written and spoken English is required. Proficiency in business-level Cantonese and/or Mandarin language would be an asset to this role.
