About your opportunity:

Permanent full-time, part-time / Location: Townsville

The Clinical Nurse role is to book elective surgery patients from a specialty elective surgery waitlist, utilising your clinical skills, and the ‘first on first off' principles. You will use your organisational skills, advanced clinical knowledge and understanding of working with individual consumers with complex case mix and comorbidities, to provide an efficient booking service for operating suites.

The role works within a multidisciplinary team to problem solve and provide high level administrative care to patients and families within the scope of practice of an CN.  You will have the ability to problem solve and work collaboratively with surgical teams, patients and their families in Townsville and region centres throughout North QLD, with a focus on district-wide elective surgery waiting list management.

The role requires moderate to high computer and documentation skills and possession of a working knowledge/ability to navigate patient notes and document into the ieMR, HBCIS. Efficient use of Outlook, Word and Excel to generate reports and correspondence is necessary.

  • Generous remuneration package value up to $132,289 p.a. comprising:
  • Salary range of $4138.10 to $4431.10 p.f. (Nurse Grade 6, Band 1)
  • Annual leave with relevant loading

Workforce Attraction Incentive Scheme:

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proof of qualification, registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
  • Highly Desirable:
    • Postgraduate qualifications relevant to the position or working towards a relevant qualification.
    • The applicant ideally will have a working knowledge of a range of software packages used in the clinical and management environment, including the Microsoft Windows, Excel, Access, Matrix and Power Point.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
  • Probation period may apply.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
