We operate 21 facilities from primary care in regional locations to highly specialised care at the main hospital.

The Medical Locum Coordinator contributes to the effective delivery of a professional and client focused medical employment service to management and staff within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service. Medical employment involves the functions of coordinating recruitment and appointment processes for all medical staff ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and Queensland Health policy.

About the opportunity:
Position:
Medical Locum Coordinator
Vacancy: Permanent Full-time, 76 hours per fortnight
Location: Medical Workforce Services, Townsville

What's on offer?
Remuneration package of up to $114,177 p.a.

  • Salary range: $90,832 to $100,071 p.a. (AO4)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation

About the role

  • Provide, coordinate and maintain a highly efficient administrative service relevant to the recruitment, contractual engagement and placement of locum medical staff for the Townsville Hospital and Health Service including Criminal History Checks, Google Searches, Referee Reports, Medical registration, Australian work rights, Credentialing and Scope of Clinical Practice.  Facilitate commencement and on-boarding processes including liaising with Liaise with the work unit to ensure an appropriate orientation is scheduled and communicated.
  • Ensure all contract rates negotiated with the Medical Officer Employment Agencies (Agencies) are in line with THHS and Queensland Health policy and guidelines and all contract cost inclusions are clearly identified within the contract to enable Service Group approval.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders including but not limited to Medical Officer Employment Agencies (Agencies), AHPRA and Medicare to achieve complex problem solutions relating to locum medical credentialing and contractual engagement for the Townsville HHS, ensuring both service delivery needs, and legislative requirements are met.
