We operate 21 facilities from primary care in regional locations to highly specialised care at the main hospital.

Townsville University Hospital, the largest tertiary hospital in northern Australia, provides specialist referral services for 700,000 people living in the region.

The Program Manager will provide leadership and operational management to a multidisciplinary team of Rural and Remote Services in line with the Service Group direction.

About the opportunity:

Position: Program Manager Rural and Remote / Allied Health Director

Vacancy: Permanent full-time, 76 hours p.f.

Location: Rural and Remote Services, Kirwan Health Campus

Applications are being sought from candidates with either Occupational Therapy, Psychology or Social Work qualification.

About the role:

  • Build positive, collaborative, problem solving relationships with other program managers and clinical directors across Mental Health and other Service Groups within the THHS.
  • Lead strategies and practices to attract, retain, develop and motivate a skilled workforce for the Program as well as assisting the other MHSG Allied Health Director develop a skilled allied health workforce for the Service Group.
  • Assist the other Allied Health Director maintain appropriate competency levels of all Allied Health staff across the Service Group.

  • Salary range: $161,540 to $167,217 p.a. (HP6)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation

Requirements:

  • Proof of qualification (Occupational Therapy, Psychology or Social Work) and registration or membership (if applicable) with the appropriate registration authority or association.
  • Blue Card Checks: Potential applicants are advised that the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian Act 2000 requires Queensland Health to seek a ‘working with children check' from the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian prior to appointment to this position. 5.1.
  • Drivers Licence: This position requires the incumbent to operate a class “C” motor vehicle and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this type of vehicle is required. 
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
