Townsville Hospital and Health Service, is the public healthcare provider for the government areas of Townsville, Burdekin, Charters Towers, Flinders, Richmond, Hinchinbrook and Palm Island. We operate 21 facilities from primary care in regional locations to highly specialised care at the main hospital.

The Burdekin Community Mental Health Service is a multidisciplinary Community Mental Health team that provides a range of community based, acute mental health services. The purpose of this Team Leader role is to provide leadership and direction to the team and service and may hold a small clinical caseload as part of the multidisciplinary team to deliver clinical care within the scope of practice of the position holder’s clinical qualification. Please note, this position is located in Ayr.

Nurse Manager
Remuneration package of up to $164,696 p.a., comprising base salary range of $132,562 - $143,924 p.a. (+ applicable allowances/benefits) (Nurse Grade 7), recreational leave loading (17.5%), and employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%).

Psychologist or Occupational Therapist or Social Worker - Advanced
Remuneration package of up to $172,615 p.a., comprising base salary range of $144,991 - $151,289 p.a. (+ applicable allowances/benefits) (HP5), recreational leave loading (17.5%), and employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%).

About the role
The Burdekin Community Mental Health Service is a multi-disciplinary Community Mental Health team that provides a range of community based, acute mental health services across the lifespan including adults, children and young people, older people, people who come in contact with the criminal justice system, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. The service is host to a multidisciplinary Community Mental Health team based at Ayr Hospital, which utilises a case-management model as a method of improving community based mental health.

The Team Leader is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the team and service and may hold a small clinical case load as part of the multidisciplinary team to deliver clinical care within the scope of practice of the position holder's clinical qualification.

Role requirements
Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership (if applicable) with the appropriate registration authority or association. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/ manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
