Clinical Lead - Rural and Remote
Rural and Remote Management, Mental Health Service Group, TOWNSVILLE
Townsville Hospital and Health Service, is the public healthcare provider for the government areas of Townsville, Burdekin, Charters Towers, Flinders, Richmond, Hinchinbrook and Palm Island. We operate 21 facilities from primary care in regional locations to highly specialised care at the main hospital.
The purpose of this role is to provide clinical leadership for community mental health teams located in Ayr, Charters Towers, Ingham, and Palm Island, and the outreach services to Hughenden and Richmond. Travel to rural sites within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service area to support community mental health teams is a requirement.

About the opportunity
Position: Psychologist or Occupational Therapist or Social Worker - Advanced (Clinical Lead - Rural and Remote)
Vacancy: Permanent Full-time, 76 hours per fortnight / Location: Rural and Remote Management, Townsville
What's on offer?
Remuneration package of up to $172,615 p.a.
- Salary range: $144,991- $151,289 p.a. (+ applicable allowances/benefits) (HP5).
- 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading and 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.
- Plus Salary Sacrificing options and flexible working arrangements may be available.
About the role
- Demonstrate high level leadership and support to the Rural Remote Community Mental Health Teams, ensuring the delivery of quality recovery focused care.
- Demonstrate specialist knowledge and use advanced clinical skills to provide a source of professional advice, education and leadership to the Rural Remote Community Mental Health Teams.
- Utilise a high level of clinical knowledge and professional judgement to provide strategic direction and consult with supervisor, relevant managers and stakeholders regarding service delivery and initiatives to improve community mental health care for consumers.
Role requirements
- Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership (if applicable) with the appropriate registration authority or association.
- This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided prior to the commencement of duty.
- Travel: This position at times may require travel by light aircraft.
