What's on offer
Fixed Term Temporary 3-year contract. A minimum of 40 hours per fortnight is required, negotiable up to 80 hours per fortnight full-time. There will be opportunity to re-apply for subsequent 3-year appointments. Please note, a permanent substantive position as a Staff Specialist Urologist may be negotiable for the successful candidate.

Pro rata remuneration package based on full-time equivalent value of up to $536,916 p.a.

  • Salary range $204,206 - $266,677 p.a. (f/t) or $100.78 - $127.77 p.h. (p/t)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading 
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • Attraction and retention incentive allowance (50% base salary)
  • Regional and rural attraction allowance (5% base salary)
  • Professional development allowance of $21,500 p.a. + 3.6 weeks p.a. leave
  • Motor vehicle allowance between $21,000 and $25,500 p.a.

Plus Clinical Managers allowance.

Other  employment benefits include: on-call allowances, shift allowances, locality allowances, communications package, professional indemnity cover, private practice arrangements, salary sacrificing options and generous leave entitlements. Assistance with relocation expenses may also be available.

About the role
The Clinical Director provides high quality clinical and non-clinical services to benefit the patients / clients of the Towsville Hospital and Health Service. Delivering the optimal development of specialist expertise for Registrars and junior medical staff within the Department. Leading and managing the provision of medical services in accordance with the standard of the specialty and the ethics of the profession.

The incumbent will be expected to be proficient across all aspects of general Urology. The Urology department has a high workload and performs over 600 operations and 500 outpatient procedures every year. The department is well equipped for all open and laparoscopic procedures. In addition to this position, the department has 1 Staff Consultant, 2 VMOs, one SET Urology Trainee, 5 Principal House Officer and 3 junior doctors.

Requirements

  • Qualified as a medical practitioner with specialist qualifications and registration, or eligible for registration, as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia in the appropriate discipline.
  • Participation in an on-call roster.
