Townsville Hospital and Health Service, is the public healthcare provider for the government areas of Townsville, Burdekin, Charters Towers, Flinders, Richmond, Hinchinbrook and Palm Island. We operate 21 facilities from primary care in regional locations to highly specialised care at the main hospital.

The Mobile Intensive Rehabilitation Team is a highly flexible and responsive recovery orientated multidisciplinary service, aimed at improving the quality of life for people with complex mental health needs that would benefit from more intensive support to maintain community living. It provides psychosocial rehabilitation to consumers with a goal of building on personal strengths, achieving recovery goals and improving health/illness management.

About the opportunity
Position:
Clinical Nurse
Vacancy: Permanent Full-time, 76 hours per fortnight
Location: Mobile Intensive Rehabilitation Team, Townsville

What's on offer?
Remuneration package of up to $132,289 p.a.

  • Salary range: $107,960 - $115,604 p.a. (+ applicable allowances/benefits) (Nurse Grade 6, Band 1).
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading and 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.
  • Plus great Salary Sacrificing options and flexible working arrangements may be available.

About the role

  • Deliver mental health nursing specific assessment, treatment and interventions as part of the multidisciplinary team, on an individual and group basis, for consumers of the Mobile Intensive Rehabilitation Team.
  • Work collaboratively with consumers, other professionals and agencies involved with Mobile Intensive Rehabilitation Team in the provision of professional clinical care informed by the principles of recovery.
  • Support the Team Leader, Clinical Nurse Consultant and Senior Occupational Therapist in quality processes, service innovation and clinical decision making.

Role requirements

  • Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent is a mandatory qualification for this position. Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.

Highly desirable

  • Credentialed status (or willingness to undertake and complete the requirements) with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses.
  • Possession of or working towards a relevant post-registration and/or tertiary qualifications in mental health nursing.
