About the opportunity
Position:
Clinical Nurse Consultant
Vacancy: Permanent Full-time, 76 hours per fortnight
Location: North Queensland Adolescent Forensic Mental Health Service, Townsville

What's on offer?
Remuneration package of up to $164,696 p.a.

  • Salary range: $132,562 - $143,924 p.a. (+ applicable allowances/benefits) (Nurse Grade 7).
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading and 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.
  • Plus great Salary Sacrificing options and flexible working arrangements may be available.

About the role

  • Provide a flexible mental health clinical service to children and adolescents with severe mental health difficulties and/or substance abuse issues who are involved in the criminal justice system in either, a community outreach, Court, Watch House or Youth Detention Centre setting within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Provide forensic mental health specific expertise and advice through consultation and liaison and education to key stakeholders working with young people at risk of mental illness and involvement with Criminal Justice system.
  • Provide profession specific services and consultation as required within the team and the service.

Role requirements
Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory. Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.

Highly desirable

  • Credentialed status (or willingness to undertake and complete the requirements) with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses.
  • Possession of or working towards a relevant post-registration and/or tertiary qualifications in mental health nursing.
