Townsville Hospital and Health Service, is the public healthcare provider for the government areas of Townsville, Burdekin, Charters Towers, Flinders, Richmond, Hinchinbrook and Palm Island. We operate 21 facilities from primary care in regional locations to highly specialised care at the main hospital.

This position will collaborate with young people, their families, and multidisciplinary professionals to provide engagement, early detection, mental health assessment, and intervention for young people experiencing Early Psychosis. These services will be delivered through a community assertive outreach model.

Clinical Nurse
Remuneration package of up to $132,289 p.a. (+ applicable allowances/benefits), comprising base salary range of $107,960 - $115,604 p.a. (Nurse Grade 6, Band 1).

Psychologist or Occupational Therapist or Social Worker
Remuneration package of up to $132,567 p.a. (+ applicable allowances/benefits), comprising base salary range of $79,051 - $116,189 p.a. (HP3).

About the role
The purpose of this position is to provide triage, assessment and consultation liaison for all consumers referred to the Acute Care Team.  The position works in both community and Townsville University Hospital Emergency Department environments. The incubment will work collaboratively with consumers and multidisciplinary professionals to provide mental health assessment, intervention and consultation, mobile crisis response and case management duties.

  • Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership (if applicable) with the appropriate registration authority or association.
  • Drivers Licence: This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this vehicle is required.
