  • Salary range: $75,090 to $103,261 p.a. (HWF3)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading

About your opportunity

  • Provide culturally appropriate guidance and assistance in the assessment and treatment planning for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people receiving care from Palm Island Community Mental Health Team.
  • Participate in the establishment and maintenance of communication networks between the Palm Island Community Mental Health Team and relevant Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community organisations and other key stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Appointment, and future increment progression, between pay points HWF3.1 to HWF3.5 requires:
    • Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care,or
    • Certificate IV in Mental Health, or
    • Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs, or
    • Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work.
  • Appointment, and future increment progression, between pay points HWF3.2 to HWF3.7, or HWF3.8 (limited to employees who meet the requirements of HED 04/23) requires:
    • Diploma of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care, or
    • Diploma of Mental Health, or
    • Diploma of Alcohol and Other Drugs.

A suitable applicant that does not hold the Certification IV qualification may be appointed at the HWF3 (no qualification) level for a fixed term (temporary), subject to engaging and participating in a learning agreement to obtain the required qualification with support under HR Policy G10 Study and Research Assistance Scheme (SARAS). Upon completion of your qualification, you will be progressed to a Permanent HWF3.1

Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community.
