About the work unit / facility

The Clinical Education Service facilitates a wide scope of education programs and platforms for the Townsville Hospital and Health Service (THHS) nursing and midwifery workforce including the Graduate program, the Clinical Partnership Program and undergraduate support, scope of practice, digital learning, occupational violence and prevention, and other professional development activities.

  • Salary range: $66.85 - $72.58 p.h. (Nurse Grade 7)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation

About your opportunity

The Nurse Educator is responsible for delivering targeted, skills-based training that equips staff to identify, de-escalate, and respond to risk behaviours in the workplace. This role reinforces the Townsville Hospital and Health Service (THHS)'s strategic commitment to safety, quality care, and staff development, with a focus on managing unpredictable behaviours using least restrictive practices.

Accreditation in the designated OVP training program is required or must be attained to meet the standards for training delivery within the organisation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position and registration with AHPRA.
  • A class C motor vehicle license.
