About the work unit / facility

The Adult Acute Mental Health Inpatient Unit (AAMHIU) is a 38-bed locked unit providing 24-hour inpatient assessment and treatment for individuals experiencing acute mental illness. The unit delivers short to medium-term care with a strong focus on recovery, crisis resolution, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Competitive salary and benefits

Nurse Grade 7: $5081.10 – $5516.60 per fortnight + superannuation + leave loading + salary packaging.

About your opportunity

As the Clinical Nurse Consultant, you will lead the integration of recovery-oriented care, support clinical education and research, and drive quality improvement initiatives within AAMHIU. You will provide expert leadership and mentorship to nursing staff and contribute to strategic service development.

Requirements

  • Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse and current practising certificate
  • Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
  • Credentialed status or willingness to obtain with ACMHN (highly desirable)
  • Postgraduate qualifications in mental health nursing (highly desirable)
  • Eligibility for AMHP under the Mental Health Act 2016 (highly desirable)
  • Class C Driver Licence
