About the work unit / facility
This opportunity is suited to motivated Occupational Therapy Students to join our Occupational Therapy Team at Townsville University Hospital as an Occupational therapy Cadet.
The position will assist in the delivery of services to patients, by undertaking basic duties under the close clinical practice supervision of experienced occupational therapists and alongside the Occupational Therapy Assistant Workforce.

- Casual rate: $38.69 to $45.51 p.h. (HP3)
About your opportunity
You will have the opportunity to work in a variety of clinical environments across acute and subactue facilites of the Townsville University Hospital. The position is ideal for students seeking to develop experience and gain insight into the role of occupational therapy within a tertiary hospital setting, while applying some of their knowledge and skills learned from university studies.
Requirements:
- The successful applicant must hold at least a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Occupational Therapy, and current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
- This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided prior to the commencement of duty.
- This position is required to work on weekends and public holidays on a rostered basis through the Department's Weekend Service.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
- Probation period may apply.
- Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
