About the work unit / facility:

The Oncology Ward at Townsville University Hospital is part of the Townsville Cancer Centre, the tertiary referral unit for Oncology Services in North Queensland. The Centre includes a 21-bed ward with a bone marrow transplant and cellular therapy unit, and a Chemotherapy Day Unit with an Apheresis Unit. Our multidisciplinary team delivers high-quality care across Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology, Haematology and Palliative Care.

Competitive salary and benefits:

  • Salary between $41.73–$53.53 per hour (Nurse Grade 5).
  • 4 to 6 weeks p.a. recreational leave with 14-17.5% loading.
  • Generous employer contribution to superannuation of 12.75%.

About your opportunity:

As a Registered Nurse in the Oncology Ward, you will provide direct nursing care using clinical skills, education and support to patients and staff. You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure best practice and quality patient outcomes in a specialised cancer care setting.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent qualification.
  • Current registration with AHPRA and a practising certificate.
  • Ability to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster.
  • Highly desirable: experience or training in anti-cancer therapy and cellular therapy infusion.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
