About the role

To provide routine environmental health services for the West Moreton Public Health Unit to protect, promote and prevent risks to the community arising from environmental health hazards that impact on the natural and built environment and human health. This includes providing advice and information on environmental health matters to internal and external stakeholders.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Sound knowledge, expertise, and skill to deliver routine environmental health services, including recent and relevant field experience.
  • Ability and expertise in the interpretation and enforcement of environmental health legislation and relevant state, national and international standards used in connection with environmental health practice.
  • Ability to provide competent clinical advice on environmental health matters and ability to work effectively in a single-discipline or multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to self-manage work activities and proactively find solutions to issues.
  • Commitment to continually develop environmental health practice knowledge and expertise.
  • Ability to effectively partner with and provide authoritative, expert advice to internal and external stakeholders.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Possession of a tertiary qualification accredited by Environmental Health Australia to practice as an Environmental Health Officer
  • Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
