About the Role

As the leader of the Workplace Relations function, you will be responsible for providing strategic, practical, and high-level advisory and consultancy services to human resource business partners and decision-makers regarding complex workplace relations matters.

You will also assist in preparing correspondence and briefing materials for decision-makers and contribute to the development of systems, processes, and procedures related to complex workplace relations and management issues.

As part of a small, multidisciplinary, and agile team working in a progressive environment, you will gain exposure to a wide range of issues, resulting in you rapidly expanding your workplace relations skills, knowledge, and experience.

Collaboration with supportive, driven, and passionate Human Resource practitioners is one of the many great features of this position. You will have the autonomy to operate within your area of expertise while being accountable for delivering results for West Moreton Health.

About You

As our ideal candidate, you will possess: 

  • Extensive experience in HR, workplace relations, employment law, and/or industrial relations. 
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the disciplinary and industrial frameworks within the Queensland State Government jurisdiction. 
  • Experience in managing end-to-end case management matters, with the ability to take ownership and drive outcomes. 
  • A proven track record of achievement in similar senior workplace relations roles. 
  • High-level interpersonal and communication skills, evidenced by your ability to maintain excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, influence outcomes, and facilitate meetings with stakeholders and delegates. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze issues from multiple perspectives and exercise sound independent judgment and application of relevant legislation. 
  • High-level written communication skills, including the ability to produce quality correspondence and reports relevant to workplace relations. 
  • Proven ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively in resolving workplace relations issues. 
  • The capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, complex, and ever-changing environment.
