Start a new journey with us! We are looking for an Assistant in Nursing to join our team at Boonah Health Service.
Boonah Hospital operates a seven day 24 hours general ward and Emergency Department servicing the local rural community. The Assistant in Nursing role operates seven days a week, mainly morning shifts but may be required to work late shifts and night shift, providing care for admitted clients on the ward.

About the role
Assisting with the provision of quality, safe person and family centred care under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Midwife (RM). Work may be overseen by an Enrolled Nurse (EN).
About you
Your success in this role will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following key capabilities, knowledge and experience. Within the context of the responsibilities described above under ‘About this role', the ideal person for this role will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
• Ability to use clinical information systems relevant to area of practice.
• Ability to communicate effectively in individual and group situations.
• Ability to work as a team member to achieve clinical and organisational goals.
• Beginning knowledge of contemporary nursing practice and the ability to seek assistance to appropriately manage patient-centred care requirements under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
• Honesty, integrity and respect for all patients, carers and staff.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
